Detailed Signal and Highway Design
At RWA we provide a full range of detailed traffic signal and highway design services to take a project from the feasibility / preliminary design stage to a point where a full set of plans and pre-construction information can be provided for build.
Traffic Signal Design
We have significant experience and expertise in producing detailed traffic signal design drawings, calculating safety critical timings, completing TOPAS 2500A controller specification forms, and Appendix 12/5 traffic signal works specifications.
RWA are accredited by the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme, and have the required competence to interrogate existing traffic signal equipment on street to fully understand it’s functionality and capability as part of detailed site surveys.
Finally we are highly experienced in carrying out factory and site acceptance testing with a view to ensuring sites are built in line with the design specifications and operate safely and efficiently.
Detailed Highway Design
RWA are also able to offer a full suite of highway design services, including, but not limited to, producing site clearance, road marking, footway, kerb and setting out a series drawings in line with the Manual Contract Documents for Highway Works and other relevant specifications.
We are able to specify / procure detailed survey information to inform the design such as topographical, STATS, and drainage surveys.
We use industry standard software, CIVIL 3D, and AUTOTurn, to routinely produce horizontal and vertical design drawings, and undertake swept path analysis of vehicle movements through new highway layouts.
