Bus Priority Study, Thomas Street

RWA produced a feasibility proposal to Royal Borough of Greenwich which endeavours to improve bus journey time and reliability around Woolwich Arsenal Station. Following an extensive review of the area, RWA provided a number of options that could be combined or initiated independently of one another. This forms part of the borough and TfL’s ambition to improve bus journey times across the capital.

RWA interrogated bus journey time data to establish existing conditions. This coupled with undertaking a full review of the surrounding network, allowed to identify possible opportunities on the network to unleash additional capacity for buses. The proposals do so without compromising the needs or facilities of other road users.

On sharing the findings with the bus operators, the proposals are now being taken forward. A key achievement of this scheme was that the proposals would all deliver a significant benefit to buses and at a low cost of implementation.
